WP5 brings to MIP-DILI two essential new concepts in biology which are vital to the understanding of DILI in man and yet are not currently (fully) exploited in safety assessment of pharmaceuticals: systems analysis and mathematical modelling.
The modelling undertaken in WP5 will focus on a limited number of relevant pro-inflammatory, anti-inflammatory and proliferative signals that can later on be expanded depending on the results obtained in WP2, 3 and 4.
Main outcomes of WP5
Establishment of physiologically-relevant dynamic pathway models that are sensitive to pharmacological perturbation
Development of an integrative multi-level regulatory pathway model
Investigation of threshold and amplification concepts
